SOCITM Annual Conference

This year there are two streams, covering strategy and delivery. These are designed to appeal both to Socitm members and to their colleagues, by covering a broader range of disciplines.
Why Attend:
Not only will the programme format and content address the growing and changing needs of a more varied membership it will seek to reflect some of the many issues that, due to the increasing pace of change, did not even exist only a few years ago.
Along with major keynotes and insightful plenary presentations, there are master classes to enable you to discuss and share what you have actually implemented, what has worked and what has not. The ‘master classes’ will all be taken from real examples of what is being done or has been achieved and will equip you, not only with ideas and how to avoid pitfalls, but also valuable contacts with those who may have ‘been there before you’.
We have also introduced lightning talks. These will be short presentations from private public or third sectors focussing on issues and challenges they have overcome and, along with the opportunity for discussion and Q & A, will be a valuable and practical opportunity for learning and development.
What to Expect:
Day 1, Tuesday 27 November: The event starts with a Senior networking dinner, which always has a quiz and, in the tradition of all good ‘pub quizzes’ will see a number of people using technology in innovative ways to give them an edge (cheat) along with a great opportunity to meet people from all sectors.
Day 2, Wednesday 28 November: The conference and exhibition opens, providing the opportunity to network with suppliers and colleagues alike.
In the evening, there will be an Awards Dinner. The dinner will also host the graduation of the first participants on the ‘Top Talent’ programme run by Socitm in association with IBM.
Day 3, Thursday 29 November: The final day includes speakers, master classes, and a presentation from the Graham Williamson Research Award winner, one of the most talked about conference presentations in recent years. There will also be a final opportunity to meet exhibitors and sponsors and discuss how they are helping organisations to deliver innovative and effective services.
